James is the Managing Director of GL Electrical (WM) Ltd, the parent company behind GL Solar. He provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the business, guiding company growth, overseeing commercial performance and ensuring the company operates in line with its values of quality, reliability and professionalism. James plays a key role in shaping long-term strategy while maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders across both electrical and renewable projects.
Gareth leads the technical and engineering function of the business for both GL Electrical (WM) Ltd and GL Solar. As Technical Director and a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (TMIET), he is responsible for system design, site surveys, technical compliance, quality control and procurement of materials.
Gareth also acts as the company’s lead for MCS, NAPIT and SafeContractor accreditations. This ensures every solar, battery and EV installation completed by GL Solar meets current UK regulations, DNO requirements and industry best-practice standards.
Matthew oversees the day-to-day operational backbone of GL Electrical (WM) Ltd, supporting the delivery of installations for GL Solar across Tamworth and the West Midlands. His role covers logistics, van and fleet management, job scheduling and distribution, customer and client engagement, and general administrative coordination.
By ensuring the right teams, vehicles and resources are in the right place at the right time, Matthew plays a crucial role in delivering efficient operations and a smooth customer journey from enquiry through to completion.
Supporting our directors is a highly skilled team of qualified electricians, renewable engineers and specialist roofing partners. Our installation teams are experienced in domestic, commercial and industrial environments and are trained to work safely, professionally and with minimal disruption to customers.
All electrical works are carried out by certified electricians, while our roofing partners specialise in solar PV installations across tiled, slate and metal roofing systems. Together, our teams take pride in their workmanship, attention to detail and commitment to delivering installations that are built to perform and built to last.
